Wheatley Plastics is proud to achieve ISO9001:2015 re-certification

The team at Wheatley Plastics is extremely proud with the results of the recent NQA audit.
The auditor Karen Whitby commented in her summary “This was the first time to site since January 2020 and it was obvious that a huge amount of work has been undertaken along with investments to develop a ‘State of the Art Manufacturing Facility’. The team at Wheatley Plastics should be very proud of their achievements since the relocation from the Old Mill and the continuing Improvement Philosophy is more than evident. New Machines, Robots, ERP and Realtime Shop Floor Data Collection as well as the new Apps have all contributed to more visibility of the Planning, Manufacture, Maintenance, Quality and Despatch Areas which in turn will see a return on the investments with satisfied Customers and OTIF results improving. The team has not sat still though and discusses their plans for the coming years with two maintenance areas, additional Robots, more Modules in Spitfire and a review of Warehouse and Despatch Areas”.
Gary Knight, MD at Wheatley Plastics comments “I couldn’t be prouder of our team. The dedication and level of commitment is second to none. We first gained our ISO 9001 standard in 1994, and three members of the Wheatley team, Sue, Rob and Rosa were present at the start of that journey and 29 years later they have played an instrumental role in the latest re-certification, such an achievement!. We are totally committed to our people, processes and training & development and recognise the quality required to achieve world class manufacturing”.
About ISO9001:2015
ISO 9001 is the international standard that defines the requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS). A Quality Management System enables organisations to manage their processes and systems in order that customer and other stakeholder requirements can be achieved. At its core is the principle of continuous improvement.
ISO aims to ensure that products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality. Whilst ISO certification does not guarantee product quality it does ensure that the processes that surround the product are controlled and performed in a consistent manner. For some businesses, they are viewed as strategic tools used to reduce costs by minimising waste and errors and increasing productivity.
ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organisation:
a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
All the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are generic and are intended to be applicable to any organisation, regardless of its type or size, or the products and services it provides.
